-- ORBCOMM USA, L.P. (ORBCOMM) today announced that it has signed a reseller agreement
with ARCO Global Tracking Systems, Inc. of Miami, Florida to provide service using
the ORBCOMM low-Earth orbit satellite system for security monitoring and asset
recovery.
Commercial and industrial applications are being developed by ARCO to provide
fleet management and security monitoring services to fixed sites and mobile assets.
More specifically, the service will monitor facilities and fleets for intrusion
or theft, and, the system will communicate to ARCO the alarm status, and track
the assets to assist in its recovery.
"ORBCOMM will provide ARCO with the flexibility and market leverage required to
expand its already large base of subscribers," said Jorge Dominguez, President
and Chief Executive Officer of ARCO. "By integrating the ORBCOMM system with the
existing ARCO communication protocols, we can provide cost effective services
on a global level."
